Rugged Portable Computers That Can Handle Any Job

Whether executing advanced reconnaissance missions, completing tactical maneuvers, or searching for enemy combatants, AMREL’s ROCKY rugged military computers are ideal for mobile deployment. The fully rugged laptop, rugged PDA, and rugged notebook are tough enough to power through even the most intense situation and their advanced wireless capabilities allow for greater mobility. AMREL’s military computers are some of the toughest on the market. All units are certified to MIL-STD 810F for ruggedness and MIL-STD 461 for electromagnetic emissions shielding.

ROCKY rugged computers are used in the following applications:

  • Communications
  • Training
  • Aircraft Targeting Systems
  • Aircraft and Mine Detection
  • Testing
  • Battlefield Management
  • Biometrics Identification

Communications

Whether monitoring supplies at a remote base or transferring sensitive information to a field unit, communication must be completed in a secure and timely manner. AMREL’s rugged portable computers are ideal for transferring data, tracking orders, and other critical communications during field operations. All ROCKY military computers are MIL-STD 461 certified; therefore, performance will not be affected by radio frequencies, magnetic fields, and other disruptive emissions.  With outstanding wireless capabilities and MIL-STD 810F certification, you can be sure that sensitive material will be communicated quickly, regardless of the distance or harsh conditions.

Training

A well planned and executed training program is crucial preparation for mission critical situations. AMREL’s rugged laptop is used by military personnel participating in battlefield simulation training. ROCKY rugged computers are equipped to enable training in transferring tactical information, accessing maps, retrieving commands and instructions, and enabling intra-communication during simulated maneuvers. Additionally, this information can be tracked and then reviewed for analysis and evaluation.

Aircraft Targeting Systems

As part of an integrated targeting system developed for F-16 aircraft, the ROCKY rugged laptop is used to relay traffic coordinates from personnel on the ground to aircraft pilots.  After receiving target coordinates from the ground, the pilot is able to respond with accurate and timely weapons delivery to the designated target. AMREL’s rugged computer is used for surgical strikes, to provide additional fire support for ground troops, or when the targets are out of the artillery’s range.

Aircraft and Mine Detection

ROCKY rugged computers are utilized to detect aircraft and mines when coupled with the appropriate hardware and software. While monitoring for aircraft activity, the ROCKY rugged computers can detect the movement of both enemy and friendly forces, including the type, position, speed and course of the aircraft.  In addition, whether handheld or vehicle mounted, AMREL’s rugged computer is used for the crucial task of detecting portable mines.

Testing

The ROCKY military computer has been used in conjunction with testing equipment to measure, record, and analyze data gathered from military equipment and devices. The COLT Tester is a multiple application-based tester designed for F-22s and B-2s. AMREL’s wireless notebook performs maintenance duties and tasks to verify the operational capabilities of the aircrafts’ electronics. With MIL-STD 461 certification for electromagnetic emissions shielding, units’ performance will not be affected by radio frequencies, magnetic fields, and other disruptive emissions

Battlefield Management

The ROCKY rugged computer has been fully integrated for use as a battlefield management tool. MIL-STD 810 certification ensures that the computer can withstand and continue to perform despite extreme rain, humidity, shock, and vibration. ROCKY units are used as command posts and to access and transfer data and tactical information. ROCKY computers can also perform vital functions such as scanning for aircraft movement or transmitting enemy coordinates to nearby aircraft.
