AMREL revealed that the ROCKY RF10, the world’s only 17.1” fully rugged laptop, has been upgraded. Adding performance to a proven platform, AMREL has boosted the ROCKY RF10 with a powerful i7 processor, expanded memory, Solid State Drive option, and a faster graphics processing unit.
“Since it has the largest display of any rugged laptop, its ideal for visual applications, such as video streaming, mapping, and situational awareness,” explains Kalvin Chen, Vice President of Operations for AMREL. “Visual applications tend to be resource heavy, so our new upgraded RF platform is designed to quickly process large data streams.”
New upgrades include:
- Intel® Sandy Bridge Core™ i7-2610UE
- Memory of 4GB, Up to 16GB
- Intel® HD Graphics 3000
- USB 3.0 ports
Like all of AMREL’s computing platforms, the ROCKY RF10 has built-in durability and reliability, crafted by decades of experience. The RF platform has been independently certified for MIL-STD 810 and IP65 (MIL-STD 461 option is available).
Modular, open platform design, and a remarkably large number of configurable I/O ports ensure flexible connectivity and easy customization. AMREL extends the manufacturer’s warranty to all modifications it performs.
“The RF10’s flexibility is unusual,” states Mr. Chen. “Rugged platforms tend to be difficult to customized, but ours are built for modification. Over 80% of the solutions that we sell are customized. At AMREL, we believe that computers can be both tough and flexible.”
AMREL has been the leading provider of rugged mobile computing solutions for over 25 years. Warfighters, fire fighters, police, EMS, and others who work in harsh environments have used the RF platform for a wide variety of critical tasks.
