Android 9 (Pie) is GMS-certified

Running on the latest OS, PA5(Gen2) is one of the few rugged 10” Android tablets on the market that is certified for Google Mobile Services (GMS).  While not all vertical markets and applications require GMS to run their apps, it is a nice feature to have for those apps that are GMS-dependent.  This ensures your app will run seamlessly in your daily operations.  You can see what’s new in Android 9 here.

    
13-Hour Battery Life

Qualcomm touts that SnapDragon 660 users should see reduced power consumption of 50~75% for location services and ~60% for WiFi. By incorporating the 660 SoC in our design and optimizing power management, we are able to achieve a long-lasting 13-hour battery life with our standard 4500mAh battery.  For field users, you’ll never have to be concerned over charging the tablet during your shift.

If you forget to charge your tablet the night before and are on-the-go, simply plug-in the tablet for a fast charge to 50% in 50 minutes. Or choose to upgrade your standard battery to a double-capacity (9000mAh) one, yielding up to 26 hours of operation in the field.

      
Adaptable Display Brightness for Day / Night

APEX PA5’s hyper-bright, 1000-nit 10.1” display provides excellent legibility even in harsh sunlight.   Visibility is further enhanced by optical bonding and the high-definition 1920 x 1200 resolution. Built with durable Gorilla Glass, the display ensures accurate touchscreen interactions with 10-point capacitive touch, glove touch, water/palm rejection, and stylus use.

For mission-critical applications, the tablet can quickly toggle to “night” or “stealth” mode with a push of a button.  Night-mode switches to 1-nit brightness while stealth model simultaneously turns off the display, LED lights, mutes the speaker, and all RF signals.

In a multi-user environment transmitting and receiving data concurrently, APEX PA5’s 802.11ac WiFi supports 2×2 MU-MIMO (Multi-user, multi-input, and multi-output) and transmits at faster speeds (max 867 Mbps) with MU-MIMO-compatible router/access points.
